Park City was incorporated in 1958.
Recreation -- A variety of community parks are available as well as the Greenbelt Forest Preserve. With its close proximity, Lake Michigan offers an abundance of recreational opportunities.
Schools -- The majority of elementary students attend Gurnee Elementary District #56, with an enrollment of 1,772 students. A small portion of elementary students also attend either Woodland Elementary District #50, with an enrollment of 5,349 students, or Waukegan Unit District #60, with an enrollment of 13,441. The majority of high school students attend Warren Township District #121, with an enrollment of 2,603 students and a small portion of students attend Waukegan High School in Unit District #60. There are several parochial schools in Waukegan and Warren Township.
Housing -- A diversity of housing exists within the city including single and multi-family housing as well as various mobile home parks. The 2000 median house value was $139,000 and the median rent cost was $679. (U.S. Census Bureau, 2000)
Government Services -- Police protection is provided by the city's eight full-time and one part-time sworn officers. Fire protection is provided by the Gurnee Fire Department.
Transportation -- U.S. Rte. 41 and State Rte. 43 provide convenient north-south access and State Rte. 120 provides ready east-west access to and from the city.
