Incorporated in 1865, the Village of Barrington, located in southwest Lake County, extends south into Cook County. Major employers include Good Shepherd Hospital, GE Capital Auto Financing Services, Park Foods LP, Recon/Optical, and International Decorators.
Recreation -- Because of Barrington's location near the Fox River Valley, Chain O'Lakes recreational area, and the Lake Barrington Water Sports Center, area residents can participate in swimming, sailing, wind surfing, ice skating, and cross-country skiing.
